How will the series end??

I’m not going to use the cool new SPOILER feature because this whole thread will likely be a SPOILER. So be warned, this is your SPOILER ALERT!

What are your thoughts? Here’s mine…

There’s really no good ending. Earth is gone. There’s nothing to return to. He’s obviously not going to make it through all the floors and taking a deal would be kind of a letdown. Sure he could turn the tables and make a sweet deal. Then what? He and Donut live alone on some foreign planet? Or do all the surviving humans go and now he is responsible for the beaten down, decimated wrecks?

Plus, Matt has been pretty adamant that this is the last book. He said he might do a spin-off with Florin, but that this story was done.

I think Carl blows it up to end all responsible for the crawl. I don’t mean himself and the board. I don’t even mean the Earth. I mean the whole solar system, maybe even a good chunk of the galaxy, whatever to get rid of them all. After all, doesn’t his motto eventually extend to, “You will not break me. I will break you all.”
