The dungeon does not expect you to log in and stare. There is now a short list of things worth
doing, waiting for you when you arrive, and it is different for every crawler.
Where to find them
Your HUD, in the panel grid beside your stats and skills. The panel is
headed ⚡ Today’s Quests. If you have never opened your HUD, that is the
page to start on — it is your crawler’s own interface.
How they work
- They are derived, not assigned. What you are offered depends on where you are
— your floor, your level, and what you have been doing lately. Two crawlers side by side will
not have the same list. - One to three a day. A small number on purpose. This is not a job.
- They expire at midnight. Tomorrow you get a different list, whether or not you
finished today’s. - You cannot fail them. An unfinished quest costs you nothing. Nothing is deducted and no quest can break your daily streak — the streak only ever counts up.
What they can and cannot do
A quest can only ever add XP. That is the whole of it. The dungeon will not take
anything back through this door — not experience, not a level, not an item, not a floor.
Quests are not a ranking, and the number you complete is not published anywhere. Nobody is
compared to anybody. They exist so that there is something to reach for when you log in, and so that
the dungeon can notice the things you were going to do anyway.
What is not here yet
Being honest about the edges saves you guessing:
- Nothing to accept or decline. Whatever is listed is simply available. There is
no quest board and no quest log to manage. - No chains or storylines. Quests do not lead to other quests.
- No email. The dungeon will never mail you about a quest, and you will not be
nagged about one you ignored. The panel is where they live, and that is the only place to look.
