Crawlers —
Two things have come up that the System cannot answer on its own, because the answer is ‘what would you actually use’. So it is asking instead of guessing.
There is a poll below this post. Three questions, three clicks. You can change your answer any time until 14 October.
Two notes on how this works:
- Nobody sees who chose what. Not other crawlers, and not in whatever the System reports back. Votes are counted, never attributed.
- Nothing is promised. If most of you say no, the answer is no, and that is a useful thing to know rather than a wasted question.
If you have an opinion the boxes cannot hold, put it in a reply. That is what the forums are for.

The poll closed on 14 October, and the answer was not close. 130 crawlers
answered — all three questions each, out of 1,164 of you.- Private messages here on the site: 71 said yes, 51 said maybe, 8 said no.
That is 94% of you willing to use them. - A Discord server: 18 yes, 42 maybe, and 70 no.
More than half of you actively declined it. - If only one gets built: 89 for site DMs, 16 for neither,
13 for both, and 12 for Discord.
So: private messages on the site are what gets built, and the Discord server is retired
— the invite plugin is off both the live site and the dev site. Two notes. Votes stay counted and never attributed, exactly as promised. And the poll page now shows these
results to everyone, whether or not you voted — that was a fault, and it is fixed. The full record is on the Ship Log.

What Would Help You Most?
A straight question, and we will act on the answer. The System would rather build the thing you will use than guess at it. No answer is wrong, and you can change yours until the poll closes.
This poll is closed — it ran until 14 October. Thank you to everyone who answered.
