🔤 Spell Crawler
Spell Crawler is the dungeon’s daily word game. Every word comes from the pages
of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series — crawler names, creatures, places, loot and lore.
Proper nouns count. If it appears in the books, it can appear here.
How it works
- One word per day, five letters, the same word for every crawler
- You get six guesses
- A new word appears at midnight
- Guesses must be real words found in the books — the game checks the full lexicon
Reading the colours
- 🟩 Green — right letter, right position
- 🟨 Yellow — the letter is in the word, wrong position
- ⬛ Dark — that letter isn’t in the word at all
Share your crawl
When you finish — win or lose — the game offers a share card: your result as an
emoji grid, ready to paste into Discord, Reddit or anywhere else. It shows your score and pattern
but never spoils the word.
♾️ Practice mode
Solved today’s word — or missed it? Hit Practice mode and play unlimited rounds.
Practice pays no XP and doesn’t touch your streak or stats. It’s just you and the word.
Rewards
- +15 XP for facing the word
- Solving pays by speed: +100 on the first guess, down to +15 by the sixth
- Streak bonus — +5 XP per day of your streak, capped at +50
- Miss a day and the streak resets. The dungeon keeps no mercy for absentees.

- 🎲 Regular / 💀 Devoted / 🏆 Lifelong Crawler — 10 / 50 / 100 rounds played
- 🗡️ Word Slinger / 📚 Lexicon Master — 25 / 100 words solved
Your inbox, your rules
Achievement emails are optional. Crawlers control them in
My Account → Account details — untick “Email me about dungeon events”
and the dungeon goes quiet. You still keep every achievement and can play everything; you just
won’t be told by email. (Level-up notices and staircase alerts follow the same switch.)
