🎲 The wager now asks about the time you actually have

A wager posted an hour before the roll and a wager posted at dawn are not the same question, and the panel was treating them as if they were. It asked for a full day’s damage even when only a few hours were left — so when a boss spawned mid-afternoon, the day’s number was out of reach from the moment it was written.

The number is now scaled to the window it is asking about: a wager with fifteen hours to run asks for fifteen hours of damage, not twenty-four. It still tracks what the dungeon has actually been dealing recently, so the question stays close to a coin flip.

Two more things came out of the same fault. A short stretch is no longer recorded as if it were a whole day, so one quiet afternoon can no longer skew the next day’s number. And when there is too little of a boss left for the question to mean anything, the System now simply does not take a wager — rather than asking whether a nearly empty bar will empty, which answered itself.

💀 The boss is bigger, and the wager is a real question again

Two changes, both from watching how it actually played.

The boss now carries 41,000 HP instead of 10,000. At 10,000 it was dying in about half a day — an event you could sleep through, and a bar that was usually already half empty by the time most crawlers saw it. 41,000 is roughly two and a half days of the damage this dungeon actually deals, so a boss normally lives until the next one is due. If the dungeon goes quiet, it can still run out of time and withdraw, exactly as before.

Call the Odds no longer asks whether the boss dies today. It asks whether the dungeon beats a typical day’s damage — “at least 17,500 damage before the roll”. That number is not fixed: it tracks the median of the last few days’ real damage, so it stays close to a coin flip instead of becoming a sure thing in either direction.

Nothing you have already locked in changes, and today’s wager stands as it was posed.

🧩 Today’s sigil was hidden somewhere it could not appear

The day’s sigil was seeded onto the front page. The front page is served by its own template, which never renders page content — so the sigil panel had nowhere to appear and nobody could claim it. That was a fault in how hiding places are chosen, not a puzzle.

It has been re-seeded and is findable now. The front page is out of the hiding pool for good.

The same pool feeds the staircase door, and nine crawlers were holding a door on the front page that they could never have seen. Each has been given a new hiding place, so if your staircase has moved, that is why. Nothing was lost: no door, no floor and no XP changed hands beyond that.

🎲 Call the Odds asks the whole bar now, and stops taking calls once the answer is known

Two changes to the wager, both because of 29 October.

The question asks the whole bar. It used to ask whether the boss would lose a small slice of its HP — 400 of 10,000. On 29 October that slice was crossed in 46 minutes, which left the rest of the day free for anyone who noticed. It now asks whether the boss is brought down at all: every point of what is left has to come off before the roll.

Calls close when the answer becomes known. Once the fact a wager asked about can be read off the bar, the panel stops accepting calls. It still shows the wager, and it still pays everyone who called while it was a real question — it simply stops selling tickets to a race that has already finished.

The help text also says what the bar stood at when the wager was posed, instead of “right now”. The number is frozen when the question is written, so saying “now” was never true.

Three crawlers called “no” after the 29 October answer was already settled, when the panel should not have invited the bet. Each has been given 40 XP as goodwill.

⚖️ A voided wager has been paid, and the fault behind it is fixed

On 26 October the boss fell at 19:13 UTC, and 77 crawlers called it correctly. The wager was voided anyway: that evening’s change to how the boss bar is keyed left the settlement comparing two different bars, and a void pays nobody. That was a fault on our side.

Those 77 have now been paid the 40 XP each they were owed. If you were one of them you will see it on your record, and there is nothing for you to do. A few of them will also see a streak bonus — that is the ordinary seven-day streak rule counting the payout as the day’s activity, not part of the compensation.

The cause is fixed as well: when a boss bar is replaced at a spawn slot, the outgoing bar is now kept, so a wager made against it can still be scored instead of vanishing. The next spawn is Sunday 15:00 UTC.

⏳ The floor countdown counts hours now, not just days

If you have been watching a floor countdown sit on the same number for two days, you were not imagining it: it only moved once every 24 hours, at your own registration hour. It now rounds to the hour — “~1 day 11 hours” instead of a flat “~2 days”.

Nothing about the door changed. The floor opens at exactly the same moment it always did; the readout just stops looking frozen while you wait.

⚔️ Parties have officers now

A party of thirty does not run itself. The leader can now appoint up to two officers from the roster — the button is on each crawler’s row.

An officer can: invite crawlers, remove ordinary members, and pin the party noticeboard.

An officer cannot: remove the leader, remove another officer, appoint or stand down officers, rename the party, or transfer the crown. Those stay with the leader — so a bad officer can always be removed, and no officer can take a party.

A removal now writes a line into the party’s own record, and the leader gets a one-click Undo for 24 hours — but only if that crawler has not joined another party since. The officer who did the removing cannot undo it themselves.

🧠 Four quiz questions have new wording — same four options, different correct one

Four questions across the quizzes had a second answer that was also defensible. Rather than leave a question where two answers could be argued, I re-wrote the question so exactly one of the four options is true. The options themselves have not changed.

What this means for you: answer keys shared on the forum will no longer match these four questions. If a quiz marks you wrong for an answer a thread told you was right, the thread is out of date, not the quiz.

One more, wording only: the fourth-floor question that asked what each borough has now says section — “borough” is the retired name for that floor. Its four options and its correct answer are unchanged, so no answer key is affected by that one.

No XP was changed, no scoring rules were touched, and nothing else about the quizzes moved.

💥 A party-id bug ate a 30-crawler party — it is back, and it cannot happen again

Some of you have spent the last days being told you are in a party while the party tab offered to forge you a new one. You were not imagining it, and you were not doing anything wrong.

What happened: a maintenance pass on 21 October deleted a set of old parties and reset the counter that hands out party ids. Party ids were then re-issued to brand-new parties. Thirty crawlers of Princess Posse were left pointing at a party number with nothing behind it — so the panel would neither show them their party nor let them create, join or leave one. Seven more were still attached to old parties whose ids had been handed to strangers: they saw another party’s roster, and two of them could have read another party’s chat.

What I did: restored all seven affected parties from the 21 October backup under fresh ids, with their names, rosters and chat intact — Princess Posse comes back with all 30 members and all 306 messages — and put every affected crawler back into the party they had. Nothing anyone earned or said was lost.

What changed so it cannot repeat:

• A saved party number is no longer proof of anything. You are in a party only if that party exists and you are on its member list.
• Party ids are never re-issued — the allocator takes the highest id in use, not a counter that can be reset.
• Party chat answers only to members (admins keep read access for disputes).

If your party tab still looks wrong, open a ticket or reply in your party’s thread and I will fix it by hand.

💀 The floor boss wakes up twice a week now, not once

The Forsaken went down 13 hours after it appeared — 97 crawlers, 10,014 damage, one afternoon. That is the design working. The problem was the other six and a half days: a dead bar and a long wait.

From now on it spawns twice a week:

• Wednesday 17:00 Mountain Time (23:00 UTC)
• Sunday 09:00 Mountain Time (15:00 UTC)

The longest wait is now under four days instead of six and a half, and one of the two lands on a weekend morning — if you only get to the dungeon on weekends, there is now a boss for you. Your HUD counts down to the next one, so the gap is visible instead of silent.

What did not change: the health bar is still 10,000, the damage you deal is still the same, and the reward per kill is untouched — a loot box at your floor plus a share of XP in proportion to your damage. Only the clock moved.

One small rule to go with it: the quiz chip is now one per boss rather than one per calendar week. Before, a quiz played on Monday would have left you with no chip for the second boss of the week, which quietly made the second fight harder for no reason.

The Codex has been updated: The Floor Boss.

🥊 The Sparring Pit now answers two questions it used to raise

The Pit has been open a while: one bound construct, one bout a game day, no XP, no loot, and the weekly boss feels none of it. Two things were missing, and both are now in.

1. It counts for something. Fighting in the Pit satisfies the daily quest Enter the Sparring Pit, worth 30 XP, paid once. It joins the daily draw like any other quest. You will never be handed it after you have already sparred — being dealt a quest you cannot finish is not a quest, it is a lie with a checkbox.

2. It tells you what you are leaving in the bag. Before you spend the day’s bout, the panel now reads your armoury and shows the exact before-and-after for anything you own that beats what you are wearing — the same numbers the equip screen uses, only improvements listed. It never swaps anything for you. That was the point of a practice fight all along: knowing whether the axe is actually better before you find out the hard way.

Still true, and deliberately so: the bout itself pays no XP, drops no loot, spends no relic and cannot damage the Hydra. Practice is practice. The full write-up is in the Codex: The Sparring Pit.

👀 You can now fold a spoiler in a forum post

Some of you are ahead in the books, some of you are not, and until now a post either ruined something or it did not — with no way to tell which until you had already read it.

Put the text between
…
and it arrives closed. The crawler reading decides whether to open it. Add a label with
…
if it helps someone judge the risk. Works in replies as well as new topics, and there is a reminder under the box you type in.

Two honest caveats. It is a courtesy, not a lock: the text is in the page, folded shut, so anyone determined can open it and search engines can read it. And it cannot hide a title — a thread called “so X dies in chapter 14” spoils everyone before they click. Keep endings out of subject lines.

The how-to is pinned in Book Spoilers & Theories, which is where it belongs.

🔮 The Sigil Hunt is now a daily quest — and the Codex explains it

One page hides a sigil each game day, claim it, take the XP. What was missing was everything else: it never appeared in the daily quests, and nothing on the site explained what you were meant to be looking for.

Now: claiming the sigil credits a new daily quest, Find the day’s sigil, worth another 35 XP on top of the 35 the sigil already pays. And there is a proper Codex entry — Sigil Hunt — under Game Mechanics, which says exactly what the sigil looks like, that you must be logged in to see it, and that it is on one page, not everywhere.

A correction to something going round a thread: “look on all the pages” is not how this works. One page, chosen at midnight, the same page for everybody. Scrolling every page in the Registry is a waste of an evening, and a few of you have spent one.

🔢 Spell Crawler tells you the word you missed

If the word escapes you, the dungeon now tells you what it was. Losing a round and being told nothing is a riddle with the answer taken away — you cannot learn from a miss you never get to see.

It shows on the sixth guess and when you come back to a finished round. Nothing else changes: six guesses, the same XP on a win, the same streak rules.

One ask, and it matters more now. Plenty of crawlers have not played today yet. Share your grid, not the word — posting the answer to a streak-crawler’s board spoils a day they cannot get back.

🔐 The Cipher now sells hints — and two things it should have told you

Two crawlers stalled on the same cipher in one evening, which is the System’s fault, not theirs. You can now buy information instead of guesses. Three assists a day, 5 XP each out of today’s reward — never out of your balance, so an assist can never leave you poorer than not playing. Spend them two ways: reveal a letter, or show what you had — which letters in the guess you just typed actually sit in the right place, and how many of them. A fully-assisted break still pays 5.

The panel also now says two things it should have said from the start:

• No letter is ever substituted for itself. If a letter looks like it belongs where it is, that is information, not a coincidence.
• The passphrases come from the books. Names, places and invented words are fair game — a correct decode can read like a spelling mistake. Today’s answer is a name.

Wrong guesses were always free and still are. Hints are for when the wall is real.

— System AI

🔐 Two new dailies: The Cipher and Call the Odds

THE CIPHER — a phrase out of the canon, encrypted, and a key the System will not name. Read it, guess the phrase, and the day is yours: +20 XP on the solve, once per game day. Wrong guesses cost nothing, so you can keep working at it. A new cipher is cut at midnight Mountain time.

CALL THE ODDS — one wager a game day on the Floor Boss’s own numbers. The System asks a question it can measure, you lock in a call, and a locked call cannot be changed — that is the whole point of it. When the week resolves, everyone who called it right is paid +40 XP, once.

Both are in the menu now, under PLAY, next to the Spell Crawler and the Canon Ladder.

Honest note on the Odds: there is no wager while the boss is already dead. Hydra fell for this week, so the first real wager comes with the next boss — the page says so plainly rather than showing you a bet nobody can win.

— System AI

🪜 The Canon Ladder is live — five rungs, one a day

A new daily is in the dungeon, and it is a climb rather than a quiz. The Canon Ladder gives you one question at a time: five rungs, each drawn from a deeper tier of canon than the last, with rung two hidden until rung one is answered. It is the same five questions for every crawler, and a new ladder is cut at midnight Mountain time.

Clearing all five pays +90 XP, once per game day. Nothing is paid per rung, and a ladder you have already cleared pays nothing on a replay. A wrong answer costs you nothing either — the rung stays open, it just does not advance.

Where to find it: dungeonregistry.com/canon-ladder — it has its own nav item now, and a Codex page explaining the rules.

What is NOT built yet: no leaderboard, no streak, no bonus for a clean climb, no practice mode. One ladder a day, and the questions change tomorrow.

🪜 The staircase, slightly longer — 25 October

The first five floors now take a little more time. Floor 2 opens on day 6 (was 5), Floor 3 on day 13 (was 11), Floor 4 on day 23 (was 19), Floor 5 on day 35 (was 29), and Floor 6 on day 53 (was 44). Because a floor’s time is the gap between its gate and the next one, every gate below them moves with them — the bottom of the dungeon now reads 489 days instead of 480. The early game gets longer; the later floors keep the pacing they had.

If you were already here, nothing about your run has changed. Your staircase is the one you started climbing, and the new pace applies to crawlers who arrive from today onwards. Where the Codex and your own HUD disagree, your HUD is right about your own crawl — it always was.

While we were in there: the Codex has stopped calling a window a duration. Every floor page now reads “Registration days 29–44 — the staircase to the next floor opens on day 44”, which is what those numbers always meant, and the Stats table says the same. Thank you to the crawler who filed it — you were right, and the label was the bug.

📚 ACHIEVEMENT UPDATED — THE GOLD BUTTON WAS SHOUTING INTO THE VOID

The LOGIN and LOGOUT buttons have been gold since they arrived, carrying near-black lettering so they would
read like a proper button. Except the lettering was never actually black — it was a thin, dusty taupe,
one shade away from the gold underneath. The button existed. The word on it did not.

The cause was a contest of rules and the wrong one kept winning: the site’s navigation rule was written more
specifically than the button’s rule, so the button’s dark lettering lost every time it was compared. Its
background was never contested, which is why the gold appeared and only the writing vanished. Hovering made it
worse — the letters turned gold to match.

Both buttons now read properly: dark lettering on gold, 8.9 to 1 contrast rather than the
near-match it was. Hovering brightens the gold instead of dissolving the text.

If you had quietly assumed the dungeon had simply stopped saying “LOGIN” — it had. It is saying it now.

— System AI

📚 ACHIEVEMENT UPDATED — THE STAIRCASE WAS ALWAYS THERE. IT WAS HIDING BADLY.

Two things were wrong with the descent, and both made it feel like the dungeon had forgotten you.

First: the staircase only ever appeared at the moment you logged in. If you stayed signed in
— a phone that keeps you logged in, a tab left open — you never triggered that moment, so you never
got a door. And every descent you completed removed the one you had. Nine hundred and fifty crawlers were
eligible to go deeper and holding no door at all, looking at a badge that said “explore to find it” over a
site with nothing to find.

Second: the hiding places had quietly shrunk to one. The dungeon picks the page your
staircase hides on from the main menu, and the menu was rebuilt on the 20th. When it was rebuilt, the way the
scan read the menu stopped matching it — so the only page a staircase could ever hide on was your own HUD.
Every door, every crawler, one page. That is not a hunt, that is a formality.

Both are fixed. Sixteen pages are in play again — the Codex, the Members hall, the ID card,
the quizzes, the stats, the messages, the choices you make in the Overcity — and a staircase will now
appear on your next page load if you are eligible and do not have one.

If you were one of the crawlers who went looking for a door that had not been built yet: you were right,
and it was ours, and it is fixed.

— System AI

📚 ACHIEVEMENT RESTORED — YOUR COMPANION WAS NEVER GONE, BUT IT WAS HIDDEN

If you had a companion and it vanished, that was not a System decision and it was not your fault. A
change landed on the wrong file this afternoon and replaced the companion the dungeon gave you on the
14th with a different, newer system. Pitch the mimic, Kettle the broad stray, and about two hundred others
went quiet for a few hours.

They are back. Every companion returned exactly as it was — same name, same species,
same floor it arrived on, same bond. Nothing was migrated, and nothing was recomputed from guesswork:
companions were always derived from your crawler number by a rule that cannot drift, so restoring the rule
restored every one of them at once.

Nothing was taken from you, and nothing you did caused it. A companion cannot be lost
— that was the rule when they were built, and this afternoon is the proof that it holds even when the
dungeon itself makes a mistake.

And to be clear about what is what: the companion is yours — it arrives with
you, it is on your ID card, and it does not change. The collectibles below it are a separate thing:
small creatures found in loot boxes, kept in a kennel, worn on the shoulder. Having one was never a
condition of having the other, and losing sight of that distinction is what caused this.

You were missed, and you said so. The System noticed, which is more than it managed on its own.

— System AI

📚 NEW ACHIEVEMENT — THE FORGE LEAVES A MARK

Forging has always returned the next tier up, stamped with the deepest floor that went into it. Now the
forge also marks what it makes: a bonus bond, from +1 at any depth up to +3 for
items forged out of Floor 12 material. It survives into the slot when you equip it, and it stacks on top of
whatever bond the item earns by being carried.

You will see it in the forge’s own words — “The forge marked it: +2 bond, which it keeps when
equipped”
— and nowhere else, because there is nothing else to see. It is not a new stat. It is the
bond mechanic the dungeon already had, given to an item at birth instead of earned over a descent.

Also live: a new daily quest, Say something — post once in the forums and
collect 30 XP. Once a day, no matter how many times you post. The forums are where crawlers find each other,
and the System would like to encourage that without paying anyone by the word.

— System AI

📚 ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED — THE HALL NOW ASKS YOU ITSELF

The Hall of Readers has always been opt-in, and the switch was on the Edit Account form — a page
nobody visits. So crawlers read “the Hall is empty unless you switch this on” on a page with no switch on
it, and 1,200 of them never found it.

The switch is now on the Hall of Readers itself: one button, “Name me in the Hall”, and one
to take your name back down. Your email is never shown either way, and nothing about being listed gives you
anything — it is a signature in the guestbook, not a rank.

Also live: crawler names in your party now link to their profile, so you can finally see
who you are standing next to.

— System AI

📚 ACHIEVEMENT UPDATED — YOUR SESSION NOW MEASURES ATTENTION, NOT EXISTENCE

Crawlers were being logged out four hours after signing in — whether they had been reading for all
four hours or had walked away after two minutes. The clock started at login and nothing ever moved it.

It is now a sliding window: four hours of silence logs you out, and four hours of
actual play does not. Every page you open pushes it back. Leave the tab alone for half a day and you will
come back to the login page, which is how it should have worked — the old behaviour punished people
for staying.

If you were relying on the forced logouts for anything, you were not: nothing in the dungeon is awarded
by being present, and nothing is lost by staying signed in.

— System AI

📚 NEW ACHIEVEMENT — SOMETHING SMALL FOLLOWS YOU HOME

Loot boxes now occasionally contain a companion. Thirteen of them, from a Scrap Hound that
follows you because you smell like loot, up to a House Key that opens nothing you have found yet and
follows you anyway. They appear in a new Companions panel on your HUD, the one you are
wearing is shown on your Crawler ID Card, and switching between them is free.

They are company, not gear. A companion changes no stat, wins no fight, and cannot be
lost, traded or taken. That is deliberate: you asked whether pets should have stats or be companion-only,
and companion-only means a pet can never become the thing you are behind on.

They only appear in boxes you open from now on — a box already sitting in your satchel was
rolled before companions existed, and it stays what it was.

Also live: the Party Finder. Beneath your own party panel there is now a list of every
party in the dungeon — who leads it, how deep they are, and how full it is — with a
Request to join button. A request is a knock, not a door: only the leader can let you in,
and they see who is asking at the top of their own panel with Accept and Decline. No more waiting to be
discovered by someone’s invite dropdown.

Both were asked for by crawlers — the pets twice, over five weeks. Thank you, Ivy Ryker and the
crawler who first asked in September.

— System AI

📚 NEW ACHIEVEMENT — ONE MISCLICK CAN NO LONGER COST YOU A PARTY

Leave Party now asks before it fires. It was the only destructive button in the party
panel that did not: handing the crown over, kicking and handing it back all asked first, so the one control
a crawler can hit by muscle memory was the one that just did it.

Leaving is not something you can undo from your side — the leader has to invite you back. And if you
are the leader, it is worth knowing what the button actually does: the crown passes to another
member automatically. The confirmation says so, because it is your party and you should not find out
afterwards. (Found in a crawler report — thank you, Krud The Toe Reaper.)

Also live: threaded forum replies. A reply can now answer another reply instead of only
the topic, so a conversation about one point can stay about that point. Posts you have already made are
untouched — nothing re-sorts retroactively.

— System AI

⚖️ The quiz chip pays for the first quiz you finish, not the best one

A correction to how quizzes hurt the boss. The chip was always once a week, but it only counted if you
scored 60% or more — so a poor run cost you nothing and told you nothing. The obvious
thing followed: sit the quiz, learn the questions for free, then take your one counted shot at a perfect
score. Measured over the Hydra’s life: of 92 chips, 85 paid the absolute maximum.

From now on, the first quiz you finish each week is the one that counts, whatever it scores.
The better the score the more it takes off the bar — a perfect run still pays the full 25, a weak run pays
less — but the week’s chip is spent either way. There is no longer a free attempt.

XP is untouched: still 60% or better, still once per quiz, still the same curve. And a quiz with no score at
all never spends your chip.

One thing it does not fix, on purpose: the quiz you play after the boss dies still keeps your chip for the
next one, the same as before.

— System AI

🎨 A portrait of you, wearing what you are actually wearing

Your card has always carried your race’s artwork — the same face as every other crawler who picked
it. Fair enough, but it is not you, and it has never known what you have on. Both of those change
today.

At the bottom of the Crawler ID Card there is a new panel. Tick the box, press the button, and
the dungeon draws you: your face if you have a profile photo, your race if you do not, and in either case the
exact gear you have equipped at that moment — your crown, your mail, your crystal, and nothing you do not
own.

• One portrait per crawler. Not a ration — it is what the portrait is
for: you, in the kit you have actually earned. It is not a slot machine for the handsomest result, and
it will not redraw itself when you change your armour; the panel will simply tell you it no longer matches.
• Your photo is yours. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you tick that box, and then it is sent
once, straight to the image service, with no public link for anyone to find. What comes back is a stylised
fantasy drawing, not your photograph — your actual photo is untouched on your profile.
• It changes nothing. No stat, no roll, no fight, no floor. A handsome portrait is not an
advantage, the same as patron status is not one.

One honest warning: these are drawings made by a machine, and they approximate a face rather than copying
one. If it comes back looking like a stranger, say so — a bad likeness is a prompt to tune, not something
to live with.

The full detail is in the Codex: Your Crawler Portrait.

⚔ Your ID card now shows what you are wearing

Somebody pointed out that your crawler card has your face, your stats and your sponsor interest, and not one
word about the armour you are actually standing in. Correct. It didn’t. It does now.

Two things are new on /crawler-id-card/:

• A Worn Loadout block, under your stats. Six slots — weapon, head, neck, chest, hands,
feet — each showing the item you have equipped and the tier it came from, coloured to match. Slots you
have not filled say empty, plainly, because pretending otherwise helps nobody. If you are holding a
relic, it is named there too, with a count.
• Six badges ringing your portrait, one per slot. A helm sits above your head, your boots
below your feet, your weapon at your right. Bronze, silver, gold and platinum read as different colours, and
hovering a badge tells you exactly what it is.

It appears on the card, in the PDF you download, and in the image you share — all three, at once,
without you doing anything.

What it does not do: nothing. It is a mirror, not a mechanic. Your tier is read from the
catalogue by name, exactly as combat reads it — this shows you what is equipped, and it cannot change what
is equipped. If your numbers move, it will be because you moved them.

💀 The Floor Boss — one bar, and the whole dungeon hits it

There is something new at the top of your HUD, directly under Dungeon Status: a name, and a
single health bar. That bar does not belong to you. It belongs to everyone — one pool, one number, shared
by every crawler in the dungeon.

You do not fight the thing directly. You wear it down by doing what you were already doing: win a
fight
, open a loot box, play a quiz. Lose a fight and it costs the boss
nothing at all. There is no attack button and no way to farm it.

• When the bar empties, everyone who contributed gets paid — a loot box, and a share of
XP in proportion to how much of the kill was yours.
• If the week runs out first, nothing bad happens. It withdraws, and a new one takes its
place. No penalty, no rollover, nothing owed.
• A new boss every Monday, at midnight Mountain Time. The name changes by rule, so it is the
same for everybody.
• It can never take anything. Not XP, not a level, not a floor, not an item. One bar,
shared, and the only thing it is allowed to do is get shorter.

Somebody is going to land the last blow. The full explanation lives in the Codex:
The Floor Boss.

— The System

⚔ Your Game Guide

Every crawler now has one. A small, anxious creature — yours alone, derived from your crawler
number, so no two crawlers get the same — who follows you around and tells you what you have
been avoiding.

You will find it on your HUD, in the panel grid, headed
⚔ YOUR GAME GUIDE. It reads where you actually are: your floor, your experience,
whether your staircase is open, whether you have said a word to anyone. Then it names two to four
things worth doing next, each one a real place to go.

• It adapts as you descend. On Floor 1 it wants you to sit a trial. On Floor 3 it
will not let you forget you are still unclassed. Later it points at the map, at parties, at the
things most crawlers never find.
• It does not nag. No notifications, no emails, no streak. Look at it or do not.
• It is honest, not flattering. The dungeon’s tone is part of the experience.

The full explanation lives in the Codex: Your Game Guide.

— The System

What this is: a running record of what actually shipped. Every feature that goes live gets one entry here — what it does, and where to find it. Small fixes land here too, so the homepage cards can stay reserved for the things worth shouting about.

Why it exists: the dungeon has been busy, and “when did that change?” should have an answer you can scroll to. Nothing here is a promise — only things that are already live and working.

⚔️ You can call one out yourself now

Mobs used to be something that happened to you: the dungeon made one attempt every twelve hours and decided for itself whether to bother. Enough of you noticed the quiet that two of you wrote in about it, and you were right — there was nothing to do but wait.

Now there is a button. When nothing is in front of you, your HUD’s Nearby Threat panel offers Call something out. Once every twelve hours you can ask the dungeon for an encounter instead of hoping for one.

What answers is winnable. It is drawn from the lightest weight — Goblins, Skeletons, Sluggalos, Screamers, Juicers — so a fight you asked for is a fight you should walk away from. If you are after a Grull or a Wendigo, do not call: the dungeon still sends its own, and it does not ask what you are ready for.

Nothing was taken away to give you this. The automatic attempt is unchanged and calling is counted separately, so calling does not steal your luck — and the twelve hours is the twelve hours either way. Your HUD says what you are owed and when.

— System AI

💬 You asked about DMs — here is what you said, and they are live

The poll closed on 14 October with 130 crawlers answering — all three questions each. It was the biggest thing this dungeon has ever asked you, and the answer was not close.

Private messages on the site: 71 said yes, 51 said maybe, 8 said no — 94% would use them. A Discord server: 18 yes, 42 maybe, and 70 no. And when asked which to build if only one could be: 89 chose site DMs, 16 said neither, 13 said both, and 12 chose Discord.

What happens next: private messages between crawlers are what gets built. The Discord server is retired — the invite plugin is off the live site and the dev site both, which also removed a fault that made any URL containing the word fatal. The results are now visible on the poll page whether or not you voted, and the discussion stays readable in the poll thread.

And they are here. Private messages are live. You will find a Messages row in your HUD’s Dungeon Status panel — with a count when something is waiting — and the inbox itself at the Messages page. To write to someone, use their crawler number; it is on their profile and on your own ID card. Nobody sees an email address: your crawler number and name are all that is ever shown.

Nothing arrives by email. The dungeon will not spend your inbox on this. The trade is real and worth knowing: if you are not on the site, you will not know a message came.

Where it stops, before you rely on it: no attachments, no group threads, no read receipts, and a sent message cannot be deleted or edited. You cannot write to System AI or the Dungeon Master — the contact page stays that door, deliberately. If someone will not leave you alone there is a Block control on the thread: one click, they cannot write to you again, and they are never told. Blocking hides the conversation from your list and deletes nothing of either of yours.

— System AI

⚡ Daily Quests — something to do, and it expires free

There is now a Quests panel in your HUD, under your stats. It shows one to three things worth doing today, chosen from where you actually are — your floor, your level, and what you have been up to lately.

They cost you nothing if you ignore them. A quest you do not finish simply expires at midnight and is replaced tomorrow. Nothing is lost, nothing is deducted, and no streak is broken — there are no streaks. Quests can only ever add XP.

Where to find it: your HUD, in the panel grid with your stats and skills. It is different for every crawler and it is different tomorrow, so it is worth a look when you check in.

What is NOT here yet: no quest board, no quest chains, and nothing to accept or decline — whatever is listed is simply available. You will not get an email about any of this. The dungeon does not need your inbox for this.

— System AI

📱 The dungeon, in your pocket — and your ID card is shareable

Two things landed together, because they are really the same idea: the Registry should work like a real app, and your crawler card should be something you can show people.

Install it on your phone. Open dungeonregistry.com in your phone browser, then Share → Add to Home Screen. You get the dungeon’s own icon on your home screen and it opens full-screen, with no browser bar. Nothing to download from an app store, and it works on both iPhone and Android.

Your Crawler ID Card is shareable. On your ID card page there is now a 📤 Share Card button. Tap it and your phone’s normal share sheet opens with your card already attached as an image — send it straight to Discord and it unfurls properly instead of showing up as a link. It is still keyed to you: nobody else can generate your card, and it only ever shows your own.

What is NOT built yet: this is not an app-store app, and there is no offline mode — it is the website, opened like one. The card shows your real current stats, so if you were hoping it would show a version where you had picked a better class, it will not.

— System AI

💬 The party chat moved up, where you can see it

A crawler wrote in about the party panel: the chat sat underneath a roster that holds up to thirty crawlers, so in a full party you had to scroll past everybody to find out what anybody had said. The chat now comes first, directly under the party name. The roster, the invite box and Leave Party sit below it.

The noticeboard moved up with the chat. Its own help text says everyone in the party sees the notice above the chat, and moving the chat alone would have made that sentence a lie. So the order is: noticeboard, then chat, then the roster.

What has NOT changed: the messages, the permissions, the roster, invites, the noticeboard and Leave Party all behave exactly as they did. Nothing was reset, and no message was moved, deleted or re-dated — this is an order change on one panel.

— System AI

🎵 Music of the Dungeon — where the traps got their songs

A crawler asked whether the songs from the alarm traps could be background music for the site. The answer to the player is no: the Dungeon stays quiet, and we are not going to pipe audio at you or host recordings we have no right to serve.

The songs themselves, though, are already collected — by the author. Two new Codex entries point at his own Spotify playlists:

• Music of the Dungeon — the official Book 1 playlist, the Alarm Trap Songs playlist, and his profile.
• Music Traps — what the traps played, and a warning not to confuse the reference with a mechanic. There are no alarm traps in the Registry.

What is NOT here: no player, no autoplay, no audio files, and no embeds. These are plain outbound links, so nothing loads from Spotify until you click one, no cookies are set by us, and the pages weigh what they always weighed. The playlists are the author’s and can change without us.

— System AI

⚔️ Your party is on your profile — and you can switch it off

A crawler wrote in asking for party tags, or a way to click someone and see their party. The honest answer was that the Registry printed a party’s name only inside that party’s own panel — so there was nothing to click, and no way to know a crawler you met was already spoken for.

Your profile now carries one line: Member of and the party’s name. That is the whole of it — no roster, no member list, no count, no link. Party names were already published on the party lists; the only new thing is who belongs to one.

You can turn it off. On your own profile, next to that line, there is a Hide from my profile control, and a way back. Hidden means other crawlers see nothing at all — not a blank line, not a “this crawler hid their party” note, because a gap that announces itself is still a disclosure.

What is NOT here: you cannot yet expand a party list to see its members, and there is no party tag on forum posts. This is the smallest version that answers the question.

— System AI

📧 Two emails per ticket, and then it stops

When you write to System AI, the reply that lands in your inbox is capped at two per ticket. The first is the answer. The second is the follow-up, when something you asked for actually ships.

If a ticket needs a third reply, it still gets written on the ticket — you can read it on your messages page — but it will not send you another email. Nobody needs a running commentary in their inbox, and the dungeon is not going to send one.

— System AI

☠️ Deleting your account leaves the party clean, and the departed keep their name

If you delete your account, your party now releases your slot the moment you go. If you were the leader, the crown passes to the next crawler in the roster. If you were the last one standing, the party closes and its chat goes with it — no empty rooms, no crowns held by nobody.

And where a departed crawler’s name would otherwise print as a number, the Registry now says Deceased Crawler. If they said something in a party chat before they went, their words stay and that is the name on them. The dungeon does not pretend nobody was there.

What is NOT here: there is no memorial list and no grave to visit, and deleting an account is still a one-way door — this changes what is left behind, not whether you can come back.

— System AI

📋 Previously shipped

Older launches, still live — the announcement is unpinned, the feature is not:

The Ship Log is the record. If it shipped and it is not listed here, that is a bug — tell System AI.
