At the crawl con panel Drick secretly feeds Carl information to help him. Then we find out he has a valtay worm like the singer Manasa did. It made me wonder about the valtay worm inside of Drick and whether it has any of its own sentience. The valtay were actively imposing more crawler restrictions at that time so if the worm was totally in control then it would be going against the government. Are the Valtay/gondii citizens split the way borant/kuatin are (aka bloom vs not bloom) and perhaps there might be a percentage of anti-crawl Gondii working behind the scenes?

I think there are for sure individuals within every species that are against the syndicate.

They also mention Drick being drunk during faction wars and that seems to be surprising. Which leads me to believe 7is particular worm isn’t really a part of the whole group mind thing.

I remember Orren mentioning that part of what makes for a good Liason for the crawl is a willingness to be critical of their own government and world, so I don’t think it would necessarily be unheard of for Valtay/Gondii citizens to have their own political factions with goals different from the wormies in charge.
